On January 6th, we celebrate Epiphany (Yordanovden), the feast of the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River.

Traditions: After the ritual baptism, the priest throws the cross into the water, and brave men dive to retrieve it, believing that whoever catches it will be healthy throughout the year.

    • 10:30 a.m. – Procession from the church to "Yavorov" Blvd. and throwing of the cross (seaside promenade in front of the ritual hall)
    • 09:00 a.m. – Festive Liturgy in the monastery "St. George"
    • 11:00 a.m. – Procession from the monastery to "Morska" St. and throwing of the cross (quay in front of "Hristo Botev" Primary School)

    • 08:00 a.m. – Festive Liturgy in the church "Holy Ascension of the Lord"
    • 12:00 p.m. – Procession from the church to the beach and throwing of the cross
