Documentary film about an extraordinary life

The Petko Zadgorski Art Gallery in Burgas is turning into a stage for art and memories. On August 26, the city will host a special screening of the film

"A Sunbeam over Paris"
– an intimate encounter with the creative world of artist Lachezar Oshavkov.

Paris – home and inspiration

The film is not a standard biography. It traces more than 50 years of Oshavkov's life in Paris, where he established himself not only as a painter, but also as a musician, sculptor, and even a singer in Russian cabarets during the 1970s.

  • Director: Andrey Chertov
  • Burgas Premiere: August 26
  • Location: Petko Zadgorski Art Gallery

Director Andrey Chertov created the film following a deep creative friendship with the artist. In the production, Paris is presented as a living character – a space of freedom, partings, and eternal inspiration.

Future projects

The choice of Burgas for the screening is no coincidence. The gallery is laying the groundwork for a major retrospective exhibition of Lachezar Oshavkov, which is expected to be presented in the city in 2028.
