BURGAS – With a spectacular event that promises to combine the classical elegance of ballet with the power and drama of operatic art, Burgas will host the premiere of _Ballet in the Opera_. The performance, which will be shown for the first time on the Burgas stage, is on September 2 at 8:00 PM at the Summer Theater. It is part of the rich program of the Burgas Music Festivals _Emil Chakarov_, which this year are held for the eighteenth time under the auspices of the Burgas Opera and the Municipality of Burgas.

An attractive program and virtuoso performances

The staging and choreography are the work of the renowned Galina Kalcheva, a long-time prima ballerina of the Burgas State Opera and the current rehearsal master of the ballet troupe. She has selected ballet scenes from some of the most iconic operatic works in world history. Among them are epic moments from Giuseppe Verdi's _Aida_, sensual dances from Camille Saint-Saëns's _Samson and Delilah_, as well as the remarkable _Polovtsian Dances_ from Alexander Borodin's opera _Prince Igor_. The audience will also be able to enjoy excerpts from Charles Gounod's _Faust_, Christoph Gluck's _Orpheus and Eurydice_, P. I. Tchaikovsky's _Eugene Onegin_, and Amilcare Ponchielli's _La Gioconda_, along with other surprises.

The virtuoso artists from the international ballet troupe of the Burgas Opera will take the stage. Their captivating performances will be accompanied by the opera's orchestra under the baton of conductor Maestro Stratsimir Pavlov, who will be a special guest at the event. The entire ballet troupe will participate in the large-scale stage extravaganza, and the soloists will be Ilina Konstantinova, Laia Ramon, Emil Yordanov, Daniel Tichkov, and Teodor Tsakov.

Synergy between arts and innovative solutions

The production of _Ballet in the Opera_ is distinguished not only by its original choreography and the flawless performance of the artists but also by its innovative approach to stage visuals. The event will impress the audience with masterfully selected multimedia, which is the work of Nikola Peshev and aims to complement and enrich the overall visual picture of the performance. The assistant director of this large-scale musical and stage event is Petar Tikholov, and the concertmasters Vanya Zlateva and Hristo Belchev will ensure the precision of the performance.

This premiere is the penultimate event of the festival program. The final chord of the Burgas Music Festivals _Emil Chakarov_ will sound on September 4, again at 8:00 PM on the stage of the Summer Theater, with the production of _Zarzuela – fire and passion_. It is at this event that the prestigious award named after the world-renowned Bulgarian conductor Emil Chakarov will be presented.
