Leading English football team Manchester City has solidified its financial power by signing an unprecedented ten-year contract with German sports manufacturer Puma. The agreement, which takes effect until 2035, is defined as the most extensive sponsorship deal in Premier League history.

The original 2019 contract, which amounted to 65 million pounds annually, is now significantly expanded. The new agreement will generate an impressive 100 million pounds for the club each year, surpassing Manchester United's previous record of 90 million pounds with Adidas.

The club's financial results confirm its successful commercial strategy. In the financial report as of June 30, 2024, Manchester City announced record revenues of 715 million pounds, with commercial income slightly increasing from 341.4 to 344.7 million pounds.

City's Executive Director Ferran Soriano emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership: "We united with Puma with the ambition to challenge our expectations. We achieved this and much more over the past six seasons".

Puma's CEO Arthur Hold added: "Our partnership with Manchester City was an exceptional success both on and off the field. The trophies, the perfect stage for our products, and the commercial success were remarkable".

Although the club did not win a trophy in the past season, it continues to be among the leading teams in English football, winning four consecutive championship titles and the memorable "Treble" two years ago.

The news comes at a time when Manchester City is consolidating its position as one of the wealthiest and most successful football clubs in the world. The contract with Puma not only secures significant financial income but also demonstrates the club's global commercial power.

An interesting fact is that in parallel with this contract, Liverpool's team also signed an agreement with Puma for around 60 million pounds annually, which further emphasizes the trend of large-scale sponsorship deals in football.

Analysts expect that this contract will provide an additional boost to Manchester City's ambitions both in sporting and financial terms over the next decade.
