President Rumen Radev officially launched the large-scale national initiative "On the Path of Faith", which aims to promote Bulgarian spirituality and cultural heritage. During a solemn ceremony in Sofia, the head of state emphasized the significance of the project for consolidating national values.

In the presence of Bulgarian Patriarch Daniel and local authorities representatives, Radev highlighted that the initiative aims to unite sacred places throughout the country. "Only together can we affirm the original Bulgarian virtues – diligence, honesty, and love for humanity," the president stated.

The first route of the project is the pilgrimage path "The Rila Miracle Worker", which will trace the historical route of transferring the relics of Saint Ivan Rilski. The route covers a distance from the "St. George" rotunda in Sofia to the Rila Monastery, to be traveled by hundreds of pilgrims over several days.

According to Prof. Pavel Pavlov from Sofia University, the initiative has been developing over the past two years with a clear strategic goal – building a comprehensive pilgrimage tourism system in Bulgaria. The project is expected to attract thousands of visitors from the country and abroad.

Among the main expected effects, the president highlights the potential for regional development. "The initiative will give an impetus to tourism and will contribute to building modern infrastructure in the municipalities," Rumen Radev emphasized during the official opening.

The religious procession, led personally by the head of state and Patriarch Daniel, symbolically launched the project. The organizers express confidence that "On the Path of Faith" will become a long-term platform for exploring Bulgarian spiritual history.

The national initiative is emerging as a large-scale attempt to promote cultural heritage and encourage domestic tourism by connecting sacred and emblematic places across the country.
