Excellent conditions for tourism in the Bulgarian mountains

The Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) at the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) announced that conditions for tourism in the mountains are very good. Despite the favorable weather, rescuers remind tourists to be careful.

Current meteorological data

Temperatures in the mountains remain high for the season, ranging between 10 and 16 degrees in the higher parts. Light to moderate winds are blowing on the highest peaks, which do not hinder tourist activities.

It is important for tourists to prepare with appropriate equipment and follow the forecast, even in seemingly good conditions.

Mountain rescue activity

Over the past 24 hours, the MRS teams have had several busy operations:

  • On Vitosha, they helped two people with leg injuries – in the areas of Boyana Waterfall and "Aleko".
  • A tourist was successfully brought down from Botev Peak.
  • A complex rescue operation was carried out in Rila, during which a tourist was evacuated by helicopter with the help of the detachments from Blagoevgrad and Razlog.
