The Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh participated in a working seminar organized by the Bulgarian Hotel Association to discuss measures for attracting young talents to the tourism sector. The focus was on new educational programs, partnerships with educational institutions, and incentives for permanent employment in the industry.

Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh participated in a working seminar on the topic "The Lost Generation in Tourism? Urgent Measures to Attract Young Professionals". The event was organized by the Bulgarian Hotel Association. It took place at the Melia Grand Hermitage Hotel in Golden Sands resort, just before the peak of the summer season, and aimed to propose specific solutions to address the dramatic shortage of labor in the tourism industry through educational solutions and partnerships.

During the seminar, Minister Borshosh emphasized that tourism creates real opportunities for retaining young people in the country and is part of the solution to the demographic crisis. He explained that the shortage of personnel is not an isolated problem in tourism, and the sector has the potential to offer long-term solutions by providing opportunities for professional development, family entrepreneurship, and stable employment in the regions.

The Minister focused on the need for specific policies - new educational programs and professional courses, better career guidance, internship programs in a real work environment, and active partnerships between the hotel business and educational institutions. The need to purposefully increase the prestige of tourism professions was also emphasized, not only through higher pay, but also by providing opportunities for growth and stability.

Minister Borshosh recalled that an interdepartmental working group led by a Deputy Prime Minister has already been created to facilitate the procedures for hiring workers from third countries. Funds have been allocated in this year's state budget to create new additional positions in the consular services, which will accelerate the visa issuance process.

The seminar also outlined several good practices from other European countries, where tax incentives and stimuli are used to encourage the employment of young professionals in the sector. The main conclusion is that the framework of seasonal employment needs to be overcome and a stable perspective should be offered, in which young people see tourism as a personal path, not a temporary solution.
