The German-speaking community of Bulgarian mountaineers reveals an ambitious program for mountain expeditions in 2025, officially announcing the exact dates for their monthly hikes. The organization "Bulgarischer Alpenclub" will carry out a total of five routes: on August 31, September 21, October 19, November 23, and December 14.
The club's last expedition was the impressive ascent of Zugspitze peak, located at the impressive height of 2962 meters in the Bavarian Alps mountain range. The club emphasizes that their hikes are completely free and conducted in a friendly atmosphere.
The organizers have developed four different groups, tailored to age and physical capabilities:
• "Eagles" - a specialized group for the youngest participants up to six years old and their families. They mainly use lifts and take short walks around mountain huts.
• "Rhodope" - a group with a more moderate pace, which covers easier terrain. The typical route includes about 300-500 meters of elevation gain and a duration of one to two hours.
• "Pirin" - the largest group, which maintains a standard pace. Their routes last two to three hours with an elevation gain between 500-900 meters.
• "Rila" - the most challenging group, which focuses on more technically complex terrain. They manage to overcome about 1000 meters of elevation gain at a relatively fast pace.
The club maintains a partnership with the German Alpine Club (DAV) and organizes additional expeditions of high complexity. Their main goal remains preserving and developing the community among Bulgarian mountaineers in Germany and Austria.
"Our mission is not only to climb peaks but to inspire and motivate our compatriots by sharing our experiences," say the members of "Bulgarischer Alpenclub".
