The risk of a global jet fuel shortage has eased and the EU does not expect supply problems, EU energy commissioner Dan Jorgensen said today.

He spoke in Luxembourg before a meeting of EU energy ministers.

"We are not in that situation now, and we do not expect a crisis in the security of supply," Jorgensen said.

He said there were times last summer when jet fuel supplies were at risk.
