Burgas council has set the areas where it will collect household waste in 2027 and how often the rubbish trucks will come. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov signed order No. 3666 on 29 October 2026.
The order sets the borders of the areas in the city's clean-up system. It lists how often waste is collected in each area, depending on the type of bins.
In 2027 the council will collect, haul away, treat and dispose of household waste in these areas. It will also keep public places clean.
The council's announcement does not include the exact borders of the areas or the collection schedules. The order is to be made public through the media and on the Burgas council website.
The deputy mayor for strategic development and ecology, digitalisation and adaptation to climate change, and the head of the environment directorate will oversee the order. The heads of the central administrative offices (ЦАУ), and the mayors and mayoral deputies of towns and villages in the municipality, will work with them.
The order is based on Article 63(2) of the Local Taxes and Fees Act and Article 44(2) of the Local Self-Government and Local Administration Act.
