Only a 3 percent chance of rain after two wet days

A quiet day for the birds around Atanasovsko Lake and Vaya
Burgas lies on the "Via Pontica", the second-largest migratory bird route in Europe. The great autumn migration of storks, pelicans and birds of prey passes through in August and September. At the end of October it is the turn of the birds that stay here for the winter.
Ducks, coots, cormorants and gulls are already gathering at Atanasovsko Lake and Vaya, and Dalmatian pelicans also winter at Vaya. The light wind today helps, because the water is calm and the flocks are easy to see with binoculars from the shore. Good spots include the dikes of Atanasovsko Lake on the side of the road to Varna and the shore of Vaya near Dolno Ezerovo.
On Sunday, observation will be harder because of the rain and strong east wind.

The usual high for the date is about 14 degrees, so today is a degree warmer than normal. Five years out of the last three decades is too few to draw conclusions about the climate, but they show how different the end of October on the coast can be.
A jacket for the morning, the umbrella stays at home
