Weather Today: Strong winds in Eastern Bulgaria, precipitation

It will remain dangerously windy today in Eastern Bulgaria and north of the mountains, with the force of the southerly wind temporarily increasing. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has announced a yellow code for strong winds in a total of 18 regions of the country.

A large temperature fluctuation is also observed, especially at maximum values. Thermometers will show between 10 and 22 degrees. In the capital - Sofia, temperatures will remain around 18 degrees. There will be variable cloudiness, which will be more significant over Western Bulgaria and the mountains. It is there that precipitation is expected, the most intense of which will be in the southwestern regions of the country.

It will also be windy on the Black Sea coast, with a very strong southerly wind. Temperatures along the coast will be between 18 and 22 degrees.

In the mountains today, a stormy southwesterly wind is expected to continue blowing. There will be precipitation in the mountain ranges of Western Bulgaria and in the Rila-Rhodope region.

And on Saturday in Eastern Bulgaria, a temporarily strong southerly wind will continue to blow. Despite this, there will also be sunny hours, but isolated showers are expected, mainly weak. There will be fog in Western Bulgaria. Temperatures will remain without significant change.

Overnight Sunday and on Sunday, precipitation is expected in many places in the country. Temperatures will drop sharply and noticeably, and in Northern Bulgaria there is a possibility that the precipitation will turn into snow.

Already overnight Monday, the cloudiness will decrease and the minimum temperatures in many places in the country will be negative. During the day, however, a new warming is expected, which will continue on Tuesday as well.
