Three drivers deeply regretted getting behind the wheel while intoxicated in the Burgas region, the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior reported. The alcohol-related traffic violations were identified by law enforcement officers over the past weekend.
The first incident occurred on Friday around 8:40 p.m. in the village of Orizare, where officers from the Nesebar Regional Police Department stopped a Volkswagen Golf for an inspection. Upon testing the driver – a 20-year-old man from the village of Malak Chardak – a blood alcohol concentration of 1.86 per mille was recorded.
The next violation was detected on Saturday around 12:25 a.m. in Sunny Beach, in the area opposite the Sunny Bay hotel. A team from the Nesebar Regional Police Department inspected an Audi A4 Avant driven by a 35-year-old man from Burgas, who blew a 2.26 per mille alcohol reading on the breathalyzer.
The final case in the series took place on Saturday evening. Around 9:40 p.m. in the Rudnik neighborhood of Burgas, officers from the Traffic Police sector of the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior stopped a Nissan Micra for inspection. The police caught the driver red-handed after the test showed a drastic 3.17 per mille of alcohol in his breath.
