The weather in Burgas and the region on June 10

On June 10, a mostly sunny and warm day is expected in Burgas with a light breeze cooling the coast.

The maximum air temperature in the city of Burgas will be around 28–29°C, and the minimum – around 17–18°C in the early hours of the day.

The probability of precipitation in the Burgas area is low – about 10–20%, with brief afternoon rain possible mainly in the interior of the region, over the hilly areas.

The sea water temperature near Burgas will be around 22–23°C, creating good conditions for the first longer swims and sea strolls.

A light to moderate wind from the northeast will blow at speeds around 3–6 m/s, which will strengthen slightly in the afternoon due to the sea breeze. The sea state will be slight.

Preliminary safety assessment for swimming along the Burgas coast on June 10:

• for most of the day – green flag: calm sea conditions and good conditions for swimming;
• briefly yellow flag is possible on individual beaches during temporary increases in wind and sea state in the afternoon.

Sofia and Sofia Region

In Sofia and the region on June 10, the weather will be typically early summer – sunny and warm, with the development of cumulus clouds in the afternoon.

Maximum temperatures in the capital will reach around 29–30°C, and minimums will be around 16–17°C during the night and early morning hours.

The probability of brief afternoon showers and thunderstorms is about 20–30%, mainly in the southern and mountainous parts of the region. In the city, the expected phenomena will be more isolated.

A light, sometimes moderate northeast or east wind will blow, which will bring slight coolness.

Eastern and Western Bulgaria

Western Bulgaria

In Western Bulgaria, the day will be mostly sunny and warm, with the typical seasonal risk of afternoon cumulus-rain clouds over the mountains and individual interior areas.

Maximum temperatures will range between 30 and 33°C, and minimums – between 15 and 18°C. It will be slightly hotter along the Danube.

The probability of precipitation and thunderstorms is about 30–40%, with a higher risk in the Rila-Rhodope region, Sredna Gora, and the Central Balkan range.

Eastern Bulgaria

In Eastern Bulgaria, outside the coast (Shumen, Sliven, Yambol, Targovishte, Razgrad, the interior of Dobrich and Burgas region), the weather will be sunny and hot.

Maximum temperatures will be between 29 and 32°C, and minimums – around 16–19°C.

The probability of precipitation is low – within 10–20%, with individual short showers possible mainly in the afternoon hours over the highlands.

The wind will be light to moderate from the northeast, with stronger gusts in open fields.

Weather in the mountains

On June 10, in the mountain regions, sunny weather will prevail before noon, and in the afternoon, cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop.

In the lower mountain parts, maximum temperatures will be around 20–23°C, at 1200 m – around 18–20°C, and at 2000 m – around 11–13°C.

The probability of brief afternoon showers and thunderstorms is about 40–60%, higher in the Rila-Rhodope region, Sredna Gora, and the Central Balkan range.

A moderate northeast wind will blow along the ridges, with temporary intensifications during thunderstorms. Tourists should plan longer hikes for the first half of the day.

Black Sea coast

Along the Black Sea coast, including the Northern and Southern Black Sea and the area around Burgas, June 10 will be a mostly sunny and pleasant summer day.

Maximum temperatures along the coast will be between 24 and 27°C, and in areas south of Burgas (Sozopol, Primorsko, Tsarevo) they can reach up to 28°C. Minimums will be around 17–19°C.

The sea water temperature along the coast will be around 22–24°C, with warmer water in the shallower bays of the Southern Black Sea and around Burgas.

A moderate northeast wind will blow with speeds of 4–8 m/s, stronger in the northern parts of the coast. The sea state will be around 2–3 degrees.

Preliminary assessment for flags along the Black Sea on June 10:

• morning and noon – predominantly green flag: good conditions for swimming and water activities;
• afternoon – on certain windier sections, a yellow flag is possible due to more noticeable sea state and currents, especially on open beaches.
