Successful Internship for Master's Students from the Military Academy at the SAR

Twelve students from the "G. S. Rakovski" National Defence College successfully completed their academic internship at the State Agency for Refugees (SAR). The Chairman of the Agency, Ivan Ivanov, presented certificates to the students from the Master's program "Security and Defence Management".

"Bulgaria protects not only its own borders but also those of the European Union," emphasized Ivan Ivanov during the event.

Key Aspects of the Training:

  • Familiarization with the work of the specialized directorates within the SAR.
  • The role of the Agency in state migration and security policy.
  • Coordination between institutions to prevent risks to national security.

During the visit, the head of the "Security and Defence Management" department, Col. Galin Ivanov, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gain practical experience. The two institutions reaffirmed their cooperation through the exchange of honorary plaques.

Social Projects for Unaccompanied Refugee Children

The SAR is actively working on a pilot project for alternative social services for unaccompanied refugee children in partnership with four municipalities (Burgas, Ivaylovgrad, Malko Tarnovo, and Tundzha), UNICEF, and the International Organization for Migration.
