Supported by Sozopol Municipality, the Bulgarian Sailing Federation, and Varna's OMK "Odessos," the upcoming edition of the Sozopol Sailing Cup 2026 will turn the seaside town's waters into a magnet for sailors and sports fans alike. The event program, included in the official federation calendar, is scheduled for September 11–13 and will bring together competitors in the IRC, ORC, and Cruising boat classes.

The sporting format consists of a three-day race. It begins on Friday with a Pro-Am race, with a course connecting Sozopol Port to St. Ivan Island. Over the weekend, the excitement will move to two coastal races that will pass by iconic Southern Black Sea landmarks such as Cape St. Trinity and Cape Kolokita. The sailing portion concludes on September 13.

The organizers are placing an emphasis on the social and cultural aspects of the event under the theme "Regatta. Festival. Cause.", aimed at bringing the local community and sailors closer together. Part of this program includes a screening of the documentary "Women & The Wind" on September 12 at the Sozopol Cinema. Before the film, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the crew of Time to Dare. This is the first all-female Bulgarian crew to finish the Aegean 600 regatta. The crew received special recognition for their achievement and was nominated for the "Golden Globe" award in 2025.

This year, for the first time, the public will actively participate in covering the regatta through a photo contest. Those who wish to take part can submit their shots of the yachts taken from the shore. The best photos will be published on the event's communication channels, and the winner will be honored during the official ceremony. It is scheduled for September 13 at 5:00 PM at the Summer Cinema in Sozopol, where the winners in the various sailing classes will also be announced.
