The National Audit Office informs political parties, coalitions, and initiative committees that the certificates required for registration under Article 37, Paragraph 1 of the Political Parties Act (PPA) have been provided ex officio to the Central Election Commission (CEC). This applies to the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential elections on October 25, as well as the partial mayoral elections scheduled for October 18, 2026.
According to the PPA, the audit institution issues certificates regarding the submission or non-submission of annual financial statements for the past three years within the legal deadline. For parties registered later, the period is calculated from the date of their judicial registration.
The National Audit Office emphasizes that this document should not be requested from the audit institution by participants in the election process. A list of the names of the parties that have submitted their annual financial statements for the 2023-2025 period has also been published.
The decision to hold the presidential and vice-presidential elections on October 25 was made by the National Assembly at the end of July. The proposal was adopted with 138 votes "in favor" from "Progressive Bulgaria", DPS, and "Vazrazhdane", with seven "abstentions" from "We Continue the Change" and non-participation in the vote by GERB-SDS and "Democratic Bulgaria".
