A national campaign against child violence will illuminate iconic buildings in blue. The initiative marks 36 years since the UN Convention. The event aims to raise awareness.

Iconic buildings across the country will be illuminated in blue today, starting at 5:30 PM. Simultaneously, they will be voiced with a specially created audio message, directed against violence against and between children. The initiative, which is expected to attract the attention of the general public, is part of the National Campaign of the State Agency for Child Protection, entitled "Be Brave, Be Good". This was announced by the press center of the department.

The event marks 36 years since the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The aim of the initiative is clear: to focus the public's attention on the critical need for zero tolerance towards violence against and between children.

The buildings of municipalities, community centers and cultural centers are just some of the places that will be included in this campaign.

In the capital, Sofia, the historic building of the Bulgarian Parliament, located at "Narodno Sabranie" Square 2, will be illuminated. In parallel, in Blagoevgrad, the Chamber Opera building will join the initiative. In Burgas, the Municipality building will also light up in blue. The same will happen in Varna, where the Municipality building will be part of the event. Veliko Tarnovo will participate with the fortress "Tsarevets". The Art Gallery in Vidin, on "Bdinci" Street No. 2, will also be illuminated, as well as the Municipality building in Vratsa. In Gabrovo, again the Municipality building will join the campaign.

In Dobrich, the Art Gallery will be illuminated, and in Kyustendil, the "Vladimir Dimitrov - Maystora" Art Gallery will join the initiative. The Fortress above Lovech, the Youth Center in Montana, the "Maestro Georgi Atanasov" Hall in Pazardzhik and the Mining Directorate in Pernik will also be part of the light event. In Plovdiv, the Municipality will participate, and in Ruse, the Pantheon of the Revivalists will be illuminated. The Kolyu Ficheto Bridge in Byala, Ruse region, will also be included.

In Silistra and Sliven, the buildings of the municipalities will light up in blue, and in Stara Zagora, the building of the "Zahari Knyazhevski" Regional Library will be part of the initiative. In Targovishte, the Targovishte Municipality building will be illuminated, as well as the Bell Tower next to the monument "St. Bogoroditsa" in Haskovo. "Arena Shumen" Multifunctional Hall in Shumen and "Saglasiye - 1862" National Community Center in Yambol will also be part of the campaign.

According to data published by BTA, a study by the National Foster Care Association (NAFG) shows that every second foster teenager feels ridiculed or isolated at school.
