The General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" (GDPSPC) published advice to citizens in connection with the warning for strong wind in some areas of the country.  

For January 3, a yellow code for strong wind has been issued by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) for the territories of the regions of Burgas, Varna, Vidin, Vratsa, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kardzhali, Lovech, Montana, Sofia, Sofia, Haskovo and Yambol, GDPSPC indicates on its Facebook page.

Among the advice is not to stay outdoors due to the danger of falling objects. Enter a public building, underpass, seek safe shelter, add GDPSPC. If you are at home, close the doors and windows tightly. If you are on the road, stop the car in an open place, away from power lines and trees and wait until the danger passes. If you are in the mountains, occupy the low places until the danger passes, the advice reads. 

Last night in Vratsa, the gusts exceeded 120 km/h and caused serious damage. There are dozens of fallen poles and wires, the mayor of the city, Kalin Kamenov, announced on Facebook. Bus stops and trees have been knocked down. Branches are falling. Sheet metal, glass and tiles are flying. There is a danger of falling objects, he warned and urged the residents of the city not to leave their homes until the situation calms down. 

This morning, the director of GDPSPC, Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzahrtov, announced that four signals had been received for fallen trees and building structures in Vratsa.
