Successful finale of the "On the Wave of Pomorie" swimming marathon
The sixth edition of the iconic sporting event "On the Wave of Pomorie" took place with great interest. A total of 170 swimmers of various ages tested their strength in the 1000 and 2000-meter distances, using an innovative electronic system for recording results.
"I love creating traditions. In 2021, we started with 51 participants, and today there are over 170. Swim with your heart!", shared Mayor Ivan Aleksiev.
Athletes from Ukraine, Russia, the USA, Germany, Greece, Poland, and North Macedonia joined this year's challenge, which reinforces the international prestige of the marathon.
Safety and special achievements
- Security: The peace of mind of the competitors was taken care of by 4 rescue boats, licensed lifeguards, and a team of medical personnel.
- Special awards: Children from the "Swim with the Stars" club and Albena Peneva were recognized for their exceptional perseverance and discipline.
- Records: The youngest participant was 5-year-old Dimitar Shopov, and the youngest from Pomorie was Nikol Delyakova.
