New safety requirements in the water zone
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has prepared a draft of a new regulation aimed at increasing safety in the operation of sports and recreational vessels. The changes are directly related to the new Law on Attraction Services.
What is changing for water sports enthusiasts?
- Jet skis: A certificate of competency will now be required for operation outside designated attraction zones. In designated zones, jet skis must be equipped with GPS for speed control.
- Parasailing and water sleds: Children under 14 will only be allowed to use the services with a parent. Mandatory life jackets with whistles for emergency signaling are being introduced.
- Technical control: Regular equipment inspections and annual staff training are required.
Important: Water attraction providers must be registered in the National Tourist Register and have "Accident" insurance.
When do the changes come into force?
