The Ministry of Tourism has officially announced the launch of the "Moments from Bulgaria" photo contest. The initiative is aimed at capturing and showcasing favorite places, landscapes, traditions, and personal experiences from our country, the ministry reported.

The main goal of the contest is to reveal the beauty, diversity, and spirit of Bulgaria. This will be achieved both by promoting well-known tourist sites and destinations, and by presenting lesser-known corners of our country.

Each applicant is entitled to submit up to 5 photographs, divided into the following three categories:

  • "People and Traditions" – covering customs, folklore, crafts, and authentic experiences;
  • "Places and Heritage" – including cultural and historical sites, architecture, cities, villages, and iconic tourist locations;
  • "Nature and Inspiration" – covering mountains, the sea, lakes, rivers, natural landmarks, and landscapes.

Photographs will be accepted until September 30, 2026. They will be evaluated by an expert jury, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, including a professional photographer and a videographer, as well as representatives of the journalistic community specializing in the "Tourism" sector.

The winning shots will be widely used – they will be utilized for the purposes of national tourism advertising, for decorating the facade windows of the ministry's building, as well as on the institution's communication channels and social media. With each publication, the authors will be credited and tagged whenever possible. A special ceremony is planned at the Ministry of Tourism for the best creators, where they will receive honorary badges and certificates.

The contest is part of the Annual National Tourism Advertising Program for 2026. A reference to the ministry's website shows that among the program's priorities are establishing the recognition of the "Brand Bulgaria" as a developed European tourist destination, building a positive image through a full mix of marketing activities and tools, as well as strengthening digitalization to achieve maximum advertising efficiency.
