Large-scale movement of military equipment in the country

In the period from May 26 to June 13, 2026, there will be intensive movement of personnel and military equipment across the national road and railway network. The reason for this is the participation of the Land Forces of Bulgaria, Romania, the USA, and Turkey, along with the NATO Multinational Battlegroup, in the tactical live-fire exercise "STRIKE BACK 26".

The exercise will take place at the "Koren" Training Area near Haskovo, the Ministry of Defense announced.

Movement schedule:

  • May 31 and June 1: Formations from the US Land Forces and the NATO Multinational Battlegroup will move from the "Novo Selo" Training Area to the "Koren" training area.
  • June 1: Representatives of the armed forces of Turkey and Romania will move from the border checkpoints to the "Koren" training area.

The Ministry of Defense specifies that all vehicle convoys will be escorted by representatives of the "Military Police" Service to ensure traffic safety.

We remind you that our country is a host and transit point for numerous international exercises during May, with military contingents from the USA, Turkey, and Serbia already using the national infrastructure for the movement of equipment.
