Summer Heat and a Sharp Turn: What Weather Awaits Us in the Coming Days

Summer is reminding us of its presence, but the weather has surprises in store. Hot days lie ahead, interrupted by a rapid cold snap.

Today, sunshine will prevail across the entire country. The mercury in thermometers will reach summer-like 28-33 degrees. It will be hottest in Thrace and the western part of the Danubian Plain.

Heat before the brief chill

Wednesday will bring even higher temperatures. In the lowlands, thermometers will read up to 34 degrees. Despite the hot weather, cumulonimbus clouds will develop in the mountains and along the Southern Black Sea coast in the afternoon. Brief showers and thunderstorms are possible.

A sharp change on Thursday

On the night heading into Thursday, the wind will pick up sharply from the northwest. A cold atmospheric front will pass through the country, lowering temperatures by several degrees.

On Thursday, daytime temperatures will not exceed 23-28 degrees. A strong wind will blow in the Danubian Plain. In the afternoon, precipitation will be more intense in the southern regions.

Weekend plans: When does the sun return?

The cool air will only linger briefly. As early as Friday, the wind will die down, though the morning will be quite cool – between 8 and 13 degrees. Here is what to expect over the weekend:

• Friday: Cloud cover will quickly decrease, and afternoon temperatures will reach a pleasant 21-27 degrees.
• Saturday: We can expect mostly sunny weather with a moderate wind in the lowlands.
• Sunday: Thermometers will once again approach 30 degrees, with slight instability in mountainous areas.
• Monday: The new week begins with true summer weather and temperatures of up to 33 degrees.
