Summer in Burgas begins with sand magic

One of the most anticipated events of the season – the Sand Sculpture Festival, officially opens its doors on July 6 (Monday) at 6:00 PM. By tradition, admission for the opening is free for all guests and residents of the city.

Lake Park is transformed into a fairy-tale world where imagination has no boundaries.

The first visitors will enjoy a festive program featuring the brass band and the talents from the "Veronik" dance school. This year, the exhibition promises to be extremely attractive, as visitors will be able to see impressive figures of favorite cartoon characters and popular video game personas.

Who are the creators of the sand city?

13 established and young artists are participating in the creation of the sculptures, including:

  • Filip Filipov, Georgi Zlatev, Vladimir Veselinov
  • Radko Valchev, Antonio Stefanov, Evtim Voynov
  • Damyan Bumbalov, Kalina Stoykova, Igor Hristov
  • Dobrin Vatev, Hristina Ilieva, Yavor Traykov and Georg Petrov

The festival will delight its visitors until the end of September. The event is iconic for Burgas and is an important part of the cultural initiatives supporting the city's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2032.
