Drivers on the Trakia motorway heading to Sofia will have to use only the fast lane in two sections next week, the Road Infrastructure Agency (API) said. The reason is repair work on the asphalt in Sofia and Pazardzhik regions.

In Sofia region, the main lane and the emergency lane will be closed between the 5th and 3rd kilometre in the direction of the capital. The closure starts at 9am on 9 November and lasts until 9am on 11 November.

Near the 89th kilometre in Pazardzhik region, also on the carriageway towards Sofia, the main lane will be closed for 400 metres. The repair there will take place only on 9 November, from 7.30am to 5pm.

The agency reminds drivers that risky overtaking puts all road users in danger. It asks them to drive with care and keep to the speed limits.

Drivers and transport firms can check road conditions at traffic.api.bg or by calling the agency on 0700 130 20, which works round the clock.
