Hundreds of Burgas residents and guests participated in the "Move the City Fest" in front of "Mladost" hall – a festival for movement, health, ecology, and community as part of the "Rejuvenate the City" project.

Hundreds of residents and guests of Burgas took part in the family festival "Move the City Fest," organized by Burgas Municipality as part of the "Rejuvenate the City" project. The space around the renovated "Mladost" sports hall was transformed into a stage for movement, creativity, games, and meetings between people of different generations.

The event's guests had the opportunity to participate according to their age and interests in a variety of activities divided into "Sport Zone," "Health Zone," Eco zone, and Fan zone. In addition to games and entertainment, visitors were able to meet their favorite athletes, share and exchange ideas and solutions for a more sustainable lifestyle, shop for products from local producers at the Farmers' Market, or simply relax with good food and music in the renewed park space around the renovated "Mladost" hall.

As a project partner, the organization "BG Be Active" prepared a series of interactive games aimed at encouraging an active lifestyle, environmental education, and social inclusion. "When we create quality public spaces, we are not just building places for sports or recreation. We are creating an environment where people meet, communicate, move together, and build a sense of belonging to their city. Truly vibrant cities are those that give people the opportunity to be active, share experiences, and create communities every day," says Laska Nenova, founder of "BG Be Active."

"That is why every space that encourages movement, culture, play, and social contact is an investment not only in the urban environment but also in the health, connectivity, and resilience of the community," she adds.

The youngest participants joined several sessions of the so-called "Clean Games," where through gaming challenges they learned more about waste separation and environmental protection. The creative workshop "EcoFun Posters" brought together children, youth, and families, who created posters with ideas for a cleaner and more sustainable city.

A special focus was also placed on older residents through the "Active Seniors" program, which offered exercises for mobility, balance, and coordination, encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. "When we talk about active life at a later age, we are not just talking about exercises. We are talking about the opportunity for people to leave their homes, meet others, be part of the community, and maintain their independence and self-confidence. Every space that encourages movement and social contacts is an investment in a better quality of life," believes Laska Nenova.

Visitors also had the opportunity to participate in a demonstration of "MOVE GAME" – an innovative concept that turns the urban environment into a space for movement, play, and social interaction by combining physical activity and digital elements.

"Move the City Fest" clearly showed how public spaces can be transformed into active places for community life, meetings between generations, and the promotion of healthy habits.

The event is part of the project "Rejuvenate the City: Innovative measures in response to urban challenges to the quality of life and health of the community" ("RELAUNCH TOWN" № EUI01-097), funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the "EUI – Innovative Actions" initiative.
