A Christmas village with a large real-ice rink will stand outside the Mladost sports hall in Burgas from 1 December to 10 January. Burgas schoolchildren will get more than 5,000 free vouchers for the rink.

Lukoil is providing the vouchers as part of its social commitment. The company backs the village, which is organised in partnership with Burgas municipality.

The rink is the main attraction, and it is the first time one has been built at this spot. A team with experience building some of the biggest ice rinks in Bulgaria is putting it up. It is open to children, young people and adults who want to try winter sports.

Children and schoolchildren will pay special prices. The organisers say this will let more families enjoy winter activities.

Around the ice there will be a big Christmas tree, lights, stalls with exhibitors, a photo corner, music and entertainment.

The organisers say Lukoil wants to make Christmas in Burgas more affordable, livelier and richer in options for children and families. They say that in winter the space outside Mladost will be a place for meetings, family walks, sport and cultural events.

The stage is for Burgas talent. In December, local schools, kindergartens and artists will put on concerts, children's shows and festive events there. Residents will be able to take part in the celebration, not just attend it.
