On August 6, a traditional Bulgarian Orthodox service will be held in Munich, led by Father Nedyalko Kalinov in the "St. Kliment Ohridski" chapel.

The Bulgarian Orthodox Church Community "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Munich has announced an official schedule of services for the upcoming month of August, which includes a series of significant religious events.

The central event in the calendar is the Holy Liturgy, which will be held on August 6th - Transfiguration of the Lord, at 10:00 local time. The service will be led by stavrophore archpriest Nedyalko Kalinov, who has spiritually served the community for more than two decades.

The historical context of the holiday refers to a biblical event from the life of Jesus Christ. According to the gospel accounts, Christ ascends Mount Tabor with three of his closest disciples - Peter, James, and John. During prayer, a sacred transfiguration occurs - Christ's face shines like the sun, and his clothes become dazzlingly white.

During this supernatural event, the biblical prophets Moses and Elijah appear beside Christ, engaging in conversation with him. This moment is considered one of the most significant spiritual revelations in Christian tradition.

In addition to the main liturgy on the Transfiguration of the Lord, the church community in Munich has planned other services in August. On August 10th, the ninth Sunday after Pentecost will be marked, dedicated to Saint Martyr and Archdeacon Laurentius.

On August 15th, a service dedicated to the Assumption of the Holy Virgin is upcoming, and on August 17th, a liturgy for the tenth Sunday after Pentecost will be celebrated, honoring the saints Myron, Alypius, and Athanasius.

An important addition to the schedule is information about an exceptional period. Due to the annual leave of Father Nedyalko Kalinov, on August 31st and September 7th, the temple will be open for prayer, but without an official liturgy.

An interesting fact is that the church community itself has a rich history, founded on June 8th, 1982 by a group of Bulgarians living in Munich. From February 1st, 2004, Father Nedyalko Kalinov was officially appointed as the parish priest.

The services are held in the chapel of "St. Kliment Ohridski", which is located in the Catholic church "St. John the Baptist" on Max Weber Square in Munich.
