Police say the teenager failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a car at a junction in Sungurlare last night.
A 17-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in Sungurlare last night when he hit a car at about 10.15pm, the regional police directorate in Burgas said.
The crash happened at the junction of Grozdyo Georgiev and Vinpromska streets. Police say the teenager did not stop at a stop sign and rode into a car that was being driven lawfully. The driver was a 57-year-old man from Shumen.
The teenager has a lung contusion and a traumatic brain injury. He is being monitored in the intensive care unit at the Heart and Brain hospital, and his life is in danger.
