Within the framework of an official working visit, Minister Laziz Kudratov held a series of strategic meetings with Bulgarian institutional representatives, including the Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov and leaders from various ministries.

The main purpose of the visit was to deepen the economic partnership between the two countries, with specific areas for joint development identified. Among the priority sectors for cooperation were mining, agriculture, food industry, processing industry, defense industry, construction, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, energy, transport, and logistics.

Minister Kudratov has already held working meetings at the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the Ministry of Economy and Industry. The sixth session of the Bulgarian-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission is planned for autumn of the current year.

During the meeting with Tsvetan Simeonov, opportunities for attracting investors in both countries were discussed. Simeonov emphasized the active role of the Investment Council at the BCCI and encouraged inter-institutional communication aimed at investment cooperation.

Additionally, potential partnership channels were examined, including agreements between the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Special attention was paid to the opportunities for developing commercial arbitration.

During the visit, Minister Kudratov held working meetings with representatives of Bulgarian companies from key economic sectors. According to data from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, trade between Bulgaria and Uzbekistan in 2024 marks a 12% growth compared to the previous year.

Veselin Halachev, Chairman of the Bulgarian-Uzbek Industrial Chamber, also participated in the diplomatic meeting, helping to facilitate communication and outline potential directions for future cooperation.

Minister Kudratov extended an official invitation to the BCCI to participate in the preparation of the upcoming business forum, which will be organized within the framework of the mixed intergovernmental commission session.

Both sides expressed clear optimism about future economic interaction and confirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral trade relations.
