The Burgas Municipality and the local branch of the National Academy of Arts are organizing the eighth edition of the Festival of Young Artists. It will take place from October 12 to 17, 2026. Traditionally, the festival features students and pupils showcasing their talents in fine arts, literature, film, and music.

This year, the forum's subtheme is "The Eurovision Emotion in Burgas," with the challenge primarily aimed at visual artists.

In this eighth edition, the selection of literary works will be conducted on a competitive basis. Pupils from Burgas secondary schools, university students, students from local arts branches, and all other applicants up to the age of 25 are eligible to submit their work. Submissions should be sent to the email address [email protected], with a deadline of October 12.

Each participant may submit up to three poems and one short story. The texts must not exceed three printed pages and should be written in Times New Roman, size 12. There are no thematic restrictions; the organizers noted that if the upcoming hosting of the major musical event inspires someone to create a literary piece, such submissions are also welcome.

Authors whose works are selected will participate in a creative writing workshop led by the poet Lyubov Djungurova. They will have the opportunity to collaborate with painters, part of which will involve brainstorming titles for paintings and creating texts based on canvases chosen by the participants. Whenever possible, excerpts from the literary works will be woven into some of the paintings. The first attempts at combining these two art forms were made during last year's edition of the festival.

Installations featuring works by students and their professors have become an established part of the Festival of Young Artists. These will be showcased on the final day of the forum, October 17, alongside a literary matinée starting at 11:00 AM in the hall of the "DAS Marina" hotel, a long-standing partner of the initiative.
