The mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov held a meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of India in Bulgaria Arun Kumar Sahu. During the meeting, opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation in the field of high technologies, academic exchange and popularization of Ayurveda were discussed.
Burgas welcomes the first edition of the Robotics Workshops at the Searchers School
The first edition of the Robotics Workshops at the Searchers School, a project of the Great Orange Foundation, concluded with a celebratory event in Burgas. The Municipality of Nesebar is undertaking large-scale disinfection and pest control measures in the region.
The Municipality of Nessebar informs citizens about the disinfection and deratization treatments carried out in the populated areas of the region according to an approved schedule. The actions taken include the treatment of biotopes against mosquito larvae, treatment with hot aerosol against flying insects, as well as the treatment of green areas, parks and other public spaces against ticks, fleas and other crawling insects.

The Municipality of Burgas and the Municipal Directorate of "Healthcare, Prevention and Social Activities" are organizing the second edition of the initiative "Health Hour by the Sea" on May 27. Free genetic tests for rare diseases in children in Burgas
From May 29 to June 4, a free genetic screening for two rare, disabling neuromuscular diseases in children will be held in Burgas. The campaign is organized by the Burgas Pediatric Association, the Municipality of Burgas and Dispensary Clinic 1 on the occasion of International Children's Day. The tests are intended for children with specific symptoms and will be performed in the laboratory of Dispensary Clinic 1.

On May 19, 2025, a meeting was held between OU "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Burgas and OU "Atatürk" - Kırklareli, Turkey. The German High School in Burgas is reducing its carbon footprint through energy efficiency projects.
Students from the German High School in Burgas conducted a study on the carbon footprint of their school for 2024 and proposed measures to reduce emissions, including insulation of the building and construction of an urban greenhouse. The municipality has prepared an energy efficiency project for the high school, which is expected to lead to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint.
The Municipality of Burgas announces a temporary suspension of the traffic light system at an intersection.
The Burgas Municipality informs that from May 27 to May 30, 2025, repair work will be carried out on the traffic light system at the intersection of Yanko Komitov Street and Lazar Madjarov Street in the P.R. Slaveykov residential area. During this period, the traffic lights will be turned off, and drivers and pedestrians are urged to be extremely careful and to obey the traffic rules.
Free parking in Burgas on the occasion of the Day of Slavic Literacy and Bulgarian Enlightenment
In observance of the national holiday on May 24, paid parking in the blue and green zones of Burgas will be canceled for the day. The green zone will return to its normal regime on Sunday and Monday.
A car accident in the Karnobat region ended with minor injuries.
On May 22 this year, around 2:50 pm, in the area of the 88th kilometer on the road between Karnobat and Shumen, in the municipality of Karnobat, a Toyota Yaris 1.0 I passenger car with Burgas registration, driven by a 72-year-old man from the village of Lozarevo, collided with a roadside tree after losing control. The injured driver was admitted for treatment at the "Virgin Mary" hospital with a lumbar spine injury, but without danger to life.
Police operation against driving under the influence of drugs on the Burgas-Varna road
On May 22, employees of the Nessebar Regional Police Department stopped for inspection a Lexus passenger car with Burgas registration, driven by a 54-year-old resident of Aytos, traveling towards Burgas. It was found that the driver had driven under the influence of narcotic substances - cocaine. He was detained for 24 hours, and the car was seized.
A resident of Sliven was detained for theft from a kiosk in Burgas.
Police officers from the First District Police Station in Burgas have identified and detained a 25-year-old man from Sliven who committed a theft of about 250 leva from a kiosk in the city on May 21. The detainee has made full confessions, and the investigation of the case is ongoing.
