The General Directorate "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" (GD FSCP) has issued an official warning to the residents of the cities of Burgas, Varna, and Shumen. The reason is the approaching heavy rainfall, about which Burgas24.bg has already informed the public. In connection with the deteriorating weather conditions, a yellow code is in effect for the Burgas region, signaling expected heavy rains and frequent thunderstorms.

GD FSCP has provided specific guidelines on how to act in the event of a flood. The institution urges citizens to strictly follow these rules for personal safety:

  • Move immediately to higher ground or elevated areas.
  • Avoid staying near ravines or riverbeds and under no circumstances attempt to cross fast-flowing bodies of water.
  • Do not position yourself under or above structures such as bridges, overpasses, and underpasses, or in other areas potentially at risk of sudden flooding.
  • Drivers should exercise increased caution and must not attempt to drive their vehicles through sections of the road that are already flooded.
