Dangerous weather: Yellow code for heat on August 6

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a first-degree warning – yellow code – for dangerously high temperatures for most of the country's territory.

The warning is in effect for the districts of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Ruse, Silistra, Blagoevgrad, and Kyustendil, as well as for parts of Central and Eastern Bulgaria.

Weather forecast

Before noon, the weather will be mostly sunny. In the afternoon, mainly over Western and Central Bulgaria, the development of cumulus clouds with short-term rain and thunderstorms is expected.

  • Maximum temperatures: Between 32° and 37°, in Sofia around 32°.
  • Wind: Light, moderate from the east-northeast in Eastern Bulgaria.
  • Atmospheric pressure: Will decrease, approaching the average for August.

What to expect in the coming days?

The heatwave will continue, with daily temperatures remaining without significant change. Even along the Black Sea coast, high temperatures are expected, reaching 34°-35°.
