Nursing Home in Pomorie to Close Due to Violations

The health inspection in Burgas is preparing to take decisive action against a home for the elderly in the municipality of Pomorie, owned by "Miladinoski" EOOD. The deputy director of the Regional Health Inspection in Burgas, Dr. Mariana Kofinova, announced to reporters that an order for the immediate closure of the facility will be served within days. The decision comes after another inspection, which revealed serious violations of sanitary and regulatory requirements.

During the inspection yesterday, the teams found that the home had not taken corrective measures after previous prescriptions. According to Dr. Kofinova, the situation remains worrying: poor hygiene conditions, lack of sufficient staff, and inadequate care regime for the residents. The elderly residents were literally isolated in their rooms, the doors of which had no handles, allowing them to be opened only from the outside. 21 people were found in the home. Dr. Kofinova pointed out that the last person admitted to the home was on November 2nd of this year, with Dr. Miladinoski himself posing as a medical professional. He was present at the inspection only at the beginning, after which he left.

The atmosphere on the spot is tense. Journalists are observing the preparations for the upcoming order, while health inspection officials are processing documents. The order to cease operations of the home in the municipality of Pomorie is expected to come into force immediately after its service. Dr. Kofinova emphasizes that the director of the facility is obliged to inform the relatives of the residents so that they can be removed. "We cannot seal the home, but after the order is served, the activity must be stopped. If this does not happen, additional sanctions will follow", she said. In addition, Dr. Kofinova reminded that the facility of Dr. Miladinoski does not possess the necessary license under the Social Services Act.

In addition, Dr. Kofinova shared that the hospice of Dr. Miladinoski in Chernomorets is also subject to sanctions. However, she clarified that the control over this type of facility is carried out by the Executive Agency for Medical Supervision, and not by the Regional Health Inspection in Burgas.
