Monday, September 7: The Autumn Transition in Burgas
Hello, dear readers! We are starting the new work week with a slightly different meteorological picture. After the hot and sunny days at the end of last weekend, today the sky over Burgas will be predominantly cloudy, and temperatures will stabilize within more moderate ranges. Although we do not expect rain (only a 5% probability for 0 mm of precipitation), the autumn feeling will be perceptible through a stronger wind.
Day Log: From Morning Freshness to a Clear Evening
Morning (08:00): The day begins with a cloudy sky and a temperature of 22.7°C. Humidity is at 56%, making the air pleasant but slightly fresh. This is great weather for an early walk, provided you have a light jacket.
Lunch (14:00): Towards the middle of the day, the cloudiness will begin to disperse and it will become mostly clear. The temperature will reach its daily maximum of 23.8°C (feeling like up to 24.9°C). Humidity will drop to 52%, providing pleasant sunlight, although the UV index will be at level 5.9.
Evening (20:00): As evening approaches, the sky will clear up completely again. The temperature will drop to 21.7°C with a humidity of 61%. Ideal weather for a calm evening walk by the sea before the sun sets at 19:34.
The Sea and the Wind: Information for Fishing and Beaching
Today, the wind will be one of the main players. We expect an easterly wind at a speed of 22.9 km/h, with gusts that can reach a solid 43.9 km/h. For the coastline, this means a more dynamic sea surface. Since the wind is from the east, it will bring cooler air into the bay, which may make the perceived temperature slightly lower than the actual one.
For fishermen and small boat owners, the easterly gusts require caution when leaving the shore. The swell will be moderate, with a maximum wave height of around 0.48 m. The sea water temperature remains very pleasant – around 26.1°C, which still makes the sea perfectly suitable for swimming, as long as one does not overstay in the water during gusty winds.
And in Years Past
If we look at the archives, today's date has gone through many different scenarios. In 2025, today was significantly warmer with a peak of 29.1°C, while in 1996 it was one of the coldest versions with a maximum of 19.4°C and actual precipitation (6.6 mm). The average maximum temperature for September 7 over the last two decades is 24.9°C. We observe that today's 23.8°C fits within the normal autumn fluctuations for our region.
Practical Tips for Monday
Clothing: We recommend «layering». In the morning, you will need a light sweater or windbreaker, and at lunchtime you can stay in a t-shirt. Do not forget a windproof jacket for the evening due to the easterly wind.
Sports and Walks: The day is excellent for running or cycling, but be careful with the wind gusts if you are in open areas along the coast. The air quality is excellent (AQI 31), making any outdoor activity beneficial for health.
Driving: The road is dry, but the stronger wind may affect higher vehicles when driving on coastal roads. Be vigilant.
Tomorrow we expect mostly clear weather and even more pleasant temperatures – we will tell you everything in the next issue!
