Burgas mayor Dimitar Nikolov has asked the city council to choose new managers for two outpatient clinics, DKTs I and DKTs II. The process has to start because the contracts of Dr Kalina Ishkieva-Gudzheva (DKTs I) and Dr Ilka Baeva (DKTs II) expire in December.

The clinics are now negotiating their contracts with the National Health Insurance Fund. The motion says the new managers should be on the fund's list of medical providers from these talks. To get on it, they need a signed contract with the clinic they will run.

A panel of five will pick the managers. Its chair is a city council representative, and its secretary is the head of the council's ДПМК department. The head of the ПНО department sits on the panel as a qualified lawyer. The other two members come from the Regional Health Inspectorate and the Bulgarian Medical Association branch in Burgas.

Each candidate must present a five-year plan for the work and development of the clinic.

Only candidates whose plans score an average of at least "very good" (4.50) will defend them before the panel.
