Today, the Bulgarian Naval Forces carried out a series of tasks related to the reconnaissance, retrieval, and transport of unmanned aerial vehicles and fragments thereof, which were discovered in the waters of the Black Sea. These actions were undertaken in fulfillment of an official order from the Chief of Defense and in accordance with a specific directive issued by the Commander of the Naval Forces.
A specialized team based at the Naval Base in Varna was placed on standby and activated immediately following a report of a discovered drone. The aircraft was located at a distance of 1 kilometer north of the Shabla lighthouse. Military specialists conducted a precise reconnaissance of the object, after which they identified it as safe. Immediately after the inspection was completed, the drone was transported to the base area.
Later in the day, the scale of the operation expanded with the involvement of a team from the Naval Base in Burgas. Personnel from this unit took charge of the identification and subsequent transport of wreckage from other unmanned aerial vehicles to their base. The recovered components were located at the following sites:
- in the area of the coastline in the town of Chernomorets;
- within the territory of the "Bungalata" beach in the town of Ahtopol.
