Dynamic weather and risk of hail

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology warns of a serious change in the meteorological situation. After a temporary clearing of cloud cover overnight, tomorrow will start sunny, but cumulus-rain clouds will develop rapidly.

Expect short-term, temporarily intense rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm activity and conditions for hail, especially in Northeastern Bulgaria, the Central Balkan, and the Rila-Rhodope region.

Temperatures and wind

  • Maximum temperatures: between 31° and 36°, around 31° for Sofia.
  • Wind: shifting from the northwest, moderate in the Danubian Plain.
  • Cooling: with the dominance of the northwest wind, temperatures will begin to drop.

Forecast for the mountains and the Black Sea coast

It will be mostly sunny by the sea, but with afternoon showers along the northern coast. In the mountains, conditions are dangerous due to intense rainfall and thunderstorms.

Over the next few days, the air mass remains highly unstable with an increased probability of significant rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday.
