Vice President Iliana Iotova held a meeting at Dondukov 2 with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence and Security Scott Bray. Bray’s visit to the country is related to Bulgaria’s preparations for assuming the chairmanship of the NATO Civilian Intelligence Committee in 2027, the head of state’s press secretariat reported.
The participants in the discussion focused on the challenges to the alliance’s collective security in light of the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. Iliana Iotova emphasized the need for concrete guarantees for the stability of the Black Sea region, which is of key importance to the country's economy.
The discussions were attended by the Chairman of the State Agency for National Security, Plamen Tonchev, and the Chairman of the State Intelligence Agency, Antoine Gechev.
Earlier today, the NATO Assistant Secretary General also held a meeting with Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, the cabinet’s press office reported. The two discussed the security environment in the region and current issues on the Alliance’s agenda.

Добре де, 2027... а дотогава какво правим? Аз помня как ни успокояваха, че всичко е под контрол и преди години, но погледайте си сега. Надявам се поне да са се научили нещо от миналото и наистина ще се вземат насериозно. Все пак сме врата към Европа и Черно море не е някаква си бахтища.
