Unique animal news from Burgas: rare species, baby deer and environmental initiatives

Burgas Zoo this autumn welcomed new exotic inhabitants, who are already one of the biggest attractions for locals and guests of the city. Among them are the extremely rare pair of mini donkeys - only 75 cm tall, brought after a long journey from Scandinavia. Their breed is so rare that it is considered "the jewel of animal husbandry". Each visitor can enter a contact zone and communicate with the donkeys - they are friendly and suitable for therapy with children.

Another real sensation is the arrival of the first red-bellied tamarins in our country - miniature monkeys from the jungles of the Amazon, which impress with their red bellies, white lips and ability for exceptional jumps. They are part of an international program for the conservation of rare species, and for the winter the zoo has provided a specially heated room for them.

In recent days, conservationists from "Wild Animals" celebrated a success - two deer, rescued after accidents, each gave birth to a cub in the zoo. For the team, this is a sign of excellent care and an atmosphere close to natural conditions.

Burgas continues to develop contact zones with capybaras, alpacas, lemurs, Dutch mini goats and rabbits, which encourage children to touch biodiversity and promote a responsible attitude towards all living nature.

All this is part of the city's efforts to uphold the example of a combination of care, education and personal involvement in wild and domestic fauna.
