Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev held a working meeting and a joint briefing with the President of the European Council António Costa. Costa's visit to the country took place at the invitation of the Bulgarian Prime Minister, with the main topics of the discussions covering the future of the European Union.

At the center of the discussions were issues related to the Multiannual Financial Framework, EU competitiveness, and the enlargement of the union. Rumen Radev proposed the introduction of the term "industrial cohesion," justifying the need for equal participation of all member states in Europe's technological development.

"We discussed with European Council President António Costa how to ensure that the need for greater competitiveness can be properly distributed over the years, that all member states have equal access to the large cohesion fund, and have equal access to the important instruments that will drive this fund, so that less developed countries do not lag behind in their technological and industrial development," the Prime Minister stated.

Radev added that the goal is for cohesion not to be limited only to infrastructure and social programs, but to ensure fundamental participation in industrial progress. "Because if we do not achieve this, the processes of fragmentation, precisely in the field of high technology and industries with high added value, will continue to deepen," he pointed out.

The two also discussed guaranteeing European security through technological sovereignty and the challenges associated with the rapid integration of artificial intelligence into public and economic life.
