Police in Burgas found a lab making methamphetamine in a private house in the city centre on Tuesday evening and detained four people, the Burgas regional police directorate (ODMVR) said.
Officers from the First District Police Department in Burgas raided the house on Petko Karavelov street at about 8:10pm. They found four people with criminal records inside: a 20-year-old man from Tutrakan, a 29-year-old man from Nesebar, a 30-year-old woman from Chernomorets and a 49-year-old man from Burgas.
Officers found 16 grams of a white crystal-like substance, methamphetamine. They also seized 1 gram of dried plant material, cannabis, two electronic scales and many empty plastic zip bags.
The house held glass flasks of different sizes, chemicals and liquids, a glass bowl with a clear liquid and three bottles of liquid. A field drug test showed the liquid in the bowl and in all three bottles was positive for methamphetamine.
Police also seized a small box of reddish powder, red phosphorus, solvents, including coreselin, and many other substances used to make synthetic drugs.
The four are being held for up to 24 hours. A pre-trial investigation has begun and is continuing.
