Blitz control and key legislative changes

Main amendments to the Ministry of Interior Act

At the second reading, deputies will vote on important amendments aimed at increasing national security.
  • Combating terrorism: GDBOP is granted the authority to issue orders for the removal and blocking of terrorist content online.
  • Border security: The General Directorate of Border Police will strengthen measures against threats from unmanned aerial vehicles.
  • Airport security: Specific security activities are planned for the public areas of airports.

Cooperation with SANS

The bill provides for the Border Police to request data from the National Unit for Processing Passenger Name Record Data, which is a key step towards more effective border control.
