The medieval temple "St. Paraskeva" in Nessebar will be open for free admission on September 19 (Saturday) as part of the international "European Heritage Days" campaign. The iconic church in the Old Town will welcome locals and tourists free of charge between 10:30 and 18:00.

According to Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov, this initiative carries a deeper symbolism: "For us, preserving the priceless cultural and historical wealth of Old Nessebar is not just an administrative commitment, but a duty to future generations, to the Bulgarian community, and to the world. European Heritage Days are a wonderful opportunity to remind everyone that caring for the past requires constant responsibility, a clear vision for the future, and collective action for its preservation."

The project is implemented annually by the European Union and the Council of Europe under the permanent slogan "Europe, Shared Heritage." It aims not only to promote the vast diversity and richness of cultural monuments but also to foster a sense of responsibility for their conservation, ensuring they are passed down to future generations.

For 2026, the European initiative focuses on issues related to climate change, as well as the challenges of preserving historical values in a rapidly changing modern world. For another year, Nessebar is participating in this global process, highlighting the significance of its heritage.
