Platforms 1 to 11 at Sofia Central Station are closed from today, 2 November, until 19 March 2027 because of the rebuilding of the capital's rail junction, the state railway company BDZ said. Some trains to and from Burgas will leave from and arrive at Iskar and Poduyane Passenger stations. Others have new timetables.
BDZ said on 20 October that some trains between Burgas and Sofia would stay at Central Station.
The background: Four Burgas–Sofia trains will keep using Central Station during repairs
Only some routes will still run from Central Station. Only the dead-end tracks 2, 4 and 6 stay open. Trains to Petrich leave from them, and trains to Bankya and Dragoman leave from track 6. Track 12 is for trains to Plovdiv, and track 13 is for trains to Mezdra.
The four fast trains between Burgas and Sofia still run from Central Station with no change of train, but at new times because of extra shunting. Train No. 3621 to Burgas leaves at 06:00, not 06:10, 10 minutes earlier. Train No. 8627 leaves at 22:20, not 22:50, 30 minutes earlier.
In the other direction, No. 8626 leaves Burgas station at 23:25, 25 minutes later than the usual 23:00. Fast train No. 8612 leaves Burgas at 15:30.
Passengers also travel without a change of station on the international fast train No. 493 from Sofia to Kapikule and on No. 8657 to Varna, which leaves at 20:50 instead of 21:00. Train No. 8656 leaves Varna at 23:40. No. 1620 from Plovdiv leaves 3 minutes early, at 06:50 instead of 06:53.
For the other trains, passengers take a shuttle train between Central Station and Iskar and Poduyane Passenger stations, where their trains start or end their journey.
From Iskar station, the fast trains to Burgas No. 8611 leave at 06:55 and No. 3625 at 17:05. The fast train No. 8651 to Varna leaves from there at 10:42, and the stopping train No. 30113 to Karlovo at 14:02.

The times for arriving trains are the times they leave their first station.
The fast trains No. 3620 and No. 8610 from Burgas, which leave at 05:25 and 07:55, end at Poduyane Passenger station. So do No. 1614 from Svilengrad (16:50), No. 10120 from Septemvri to Bankya (04:25) and No. 10112 from Dimitrovgrad (07:45).
