NATO supports Bulgaria: Reaction to threats
Prime Minister Rumen Radev held a key telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The main topic of the discussion was the security environment in Europe and potential risks posed by aggressive actions cited in foreign media.
Mark Rutte confirmed the full readiness of NATO's defense forces to neutralize any threat against member states.
Alliance security is a priority
- Actions in case of attack: Any attack against a member state will be treated as an attack against the entire Alliance under the North Atlantic Treaty.
- Proven effectiveness: Defense readiness was demonstrated through the successful interception of ballistic missiles aimed at Turkey.
- The situation in Bulgaria: Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov reassured citizens, stating that there is currently no direct military threat to our country.
The government continues to monitor the situation in the region in close cooperation with NATO partners.
