On August 1 and 2, the weather in Bulgaria will remain typically summery, but with clear differences between the coast and the country's interior. According to the NIMH forecast, the Black Sea coast will see mostly sun and good beach conditions, while in Western Bulgaria and mountain regions, short-lived showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon. In some areas, the wind will strengthen temporarily, but there are no warnings for dangerous phenomena for today.

Burgas and the region

In Burgas and the region, August 1 will begin with sunny and pleasant summer weather. The air temperature will be around 28°-30°, and the probability of precipitation is low, with the possibility of only brief local showers in the inland parts of the region. The wind will be light to moderate, mostly from the east-northeast.

The sea water temperature near Burgas will remain around 26°-27°C, and the sea state will be 2-3 on the Douglas scale. Conditions for swimming remain good, so the preliminary assessment is a green flag.

Sofia and the region

In Sofia and the area, the first day of August will be relatively warm and mostly sunny before noon, but cumulus cloudiness will increase in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will reach around 28°-29°, and short-lived showers and thunderstorms are possible in parts of the region.

The wind will be light to moderate, oriented primarily from the north-northeast. There is no sea water, so a swimming flag does not apply.

Eastern Bulgaria

In Eastern Bulgaria, sunny weather will prevail and temperatures will be between 29° and 32°. Precipitation is unlikely, and the cloud cover will remain mostly broken, with a higher probability of clouding in the afternoon hours.

The wind will be light to moderate from the east-northeast. There is not sea water everywhere, but along the eastern coast the sea temperature will be around 26°-27°C, with a state of 2-3 on the Douglas scale and a green flag for swimming.

Western Bulgaria

In Western Bulgaria and especially in the mountain outskirts, cumulus-rain clouds will develop in the afternoon. The day will start with more sun, but in many places there will be short-lived showers and thunderstorms, and in individual areas a temporary strengthening of the wind is possible. Temperatures will be between 27° and 31°.

The wind will be light to moderate, and during storms - with stronger gusts. There is no sea water, so a swimming flag does not apply.

In the mountains

In the mountain regions on both days, the weather will remain more unstable in the afternoon. In many places, cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will form, and short-lived showers and thunderstorms will occur mainly in Western and Central Bulgaria. Temperatures will be lower and more suitable for early hikes - around 22°-24° at 1200 meters and around 14°-16° at 2000 meters.

The wind will be light to moderate, with temporary strengthenings in the higher parts. There is no sea water, so a swimming assessment does not apply.

Black Sea coast

Along the Black Sea coast, August 1 and 2 will be the calmest and most suitable days for the beach. Maximum temperatures will range between 27° and 29°C, and the weather will remain mostly sunny with temporary increases in cloudiness. The wind will be moderate, from the east-northeast, and in the afternoon it may shift from the southeast in places.

The sea water temperature will be around 26°-27°C, and the sea state - 2-3 on the Douglas scale. This provides good conditions for swimming and a green flag assessment.
