The Council of Ministers has officially approved funding of 3,949,937 euros, which will be directed toward the implementation of three national programs. The initiatives aim for more effective inclusion of children and students in the preschool and school education system, as well as large-scale modernization of the existing infrastructure in the country. This information was confirmed by the government's press office.
As part of efforts to improve the enrollment process for young people, funds have been allocated to 81 municipal kindergartens and schools under the "Together for Every Child" national program. They will receive a total of 97,146 euros, intended to support the work of outreach teams and to maintain active interaction with the parents of children and students of compulsory preschool and school age.
Significant investments are also planned under the national program "Providing a Modern, Secure, and Accessible Educational Environment":
- 13 municipal schools will receive 146,086 euros to carry out construction and repair work and to provide facilities ensuring access for people with disabilities to educational institutions and within the buildings themselves.
- 239 municipal educational institutions will have 3,057,682 euros at their disposal, aimed at modernizing the school environment, which is necessary for conducting an effective learning process and building specialized centers for the humanities.
- 34 municipal educational institutions will receive 483,898 euros for the furnishing and equipment of modern classrooms, as well as for the creation of outdoor activity areas. These activities will help in the more comprehensive development of the children's and students' abilities in the fields of technology, science, sports, and the arts.
Financial support of 165,125 euros is also earmarked for eight municipal vocational high schools and secondary schools with vocational classes through the "Vocational Education and Training" national program. The funds are intended to improve the educational environment and ensure high-quality vocational training that is aligned with the actual needs of the labor market, the government's press office added.
We remind you that in April, the caretaker government had already given the green light to 24 national programs for the development of education, which will support key policies during the upcoming school year. At that time, it was announced that over 115 million euros were planned to be invested in kindergartens and schools, along with the expansion of policy scopes through the introduction of new activities.
